Cupping

Cupping is a therapeutic method in which a jar or cup is attached to the surface of the skin to cause local congestion. This is achieved by the creation of a negative pressure inside the cup via the introduction of ignited material in to the cup. Commonly the cup are made from bamboo, glass, plastic or pottery.

It acts as promote the circulation of vital energy (Qi) in the meridians and collateral, induce an analgesic effect, sun side swelling. It can apply in facial paralysis, paralysis, body sprain, stomachache, arthritis, carbuncle etc.

In the cupping method, the cup or jar placed on the ignite cotton ball or after fire twinkling inside the cup, immediately placed on the body and creates the pressure inside. In the present, for the creation of pressure, the cups are modify into manual as well as air evacuate system where as hand pump is used.

The cupping therapy has different method according to manipulation as retaining cupping, flash or quick cupping, moving cupping, cupping with needle inside, blood letting and cupping.
