Acupuncture is a treatment method in which penetrates or insert tinny filliform needle or other acupuncture instrument at the skin surface (Acupoint) in order to prevent and treat diferent diseases. In Latin words: Acus – means sharpe, blade type instrument, Punctura –means penetrate or insert. Acupuncture is based on the nelief that Qi (vital energy) which circulates in our body through meridians and collateral (Pathway).

In the history of acupuncture treatment, there are different type of needles are used, especially filliform needle which has different sizes in length and thickness, others are – three edge needle, plumblossum needle, intradermal needle, skin needle, hot needle, dull needle. Therapeutically, there is body acupuncture, ear (auricle) acupuncture, scalp acupuncture.
